Android Question Google Maps Intent ignoring Zoom?

Hi,
I have an app which sends the user a Google Map Location with in a link such as this:

50°29'55.7"N 4°21'24.1"W

maps.google.com

If you click on this link on an Android phone, it will open the Google Maps app, on a computer it will open a webpage to Google Maps.

The z part is supposed to tell Google maps to tell the Google Maps the Zoom level.

Recently, I'm not sure when it started, Google is ignoring the Zoom level and choosing its own Zoom level.

Does anyone know a way to get this to stop happening?
