Gps & Glonass

I see some of the Xperia phones have support now for the Rusiian GPS system Glonas, which is in theory more accurate.

Does the API provide anyway of telling what GPS system is in use or what is supported by the chipset ?

There is no such API. The navigation system is chosen internally. This means that your app will be able to use the better performing system.

More over - default mode is that all the satellites of all systems supported are used together.
But device developer sets in the firmware what systems are used by the chipset.
