Android Question Stylizing text in labels?

Is it possible to stylize the text in a label? I would like to be able to do dropshadows/backshadows, maybe outlines, etc and I am not sure exactly how to do that.

I need some way to allow text to stand out better on a display screen mixed with background graphics

You will need to do some work for this. Try to implement it with two labels, slightly shifted. The one in the back will act as the "shadow".

its something to think about because this stuff is easily done with web technologies, but yet not native apps.

Ahh dang yeah most of those don't have the typeface with the outline. its just the outline/shadows. I am going to have to get creative, nothing can be simple ?

I have yeah, but as far as I can tell, nothing. Since I would basically need a 2-color font. Typeface plus shadow/outline which appears to be something that really doesn't exist.
