VideoView Version 1.8

Has the VideoView in 1.8 had any changes? Looking for options to center the video playing to the center of the view, like a 4.3 ratio video. The current 1.7 always shifts the video far left to 0,0. It would also be nice to get info like FPS, mbits a second and AAC, etc. for audio type.

No. VideoView was not updated in v1.8.

Center Video Playing

Hello Erel,

Thanks for your reply. Is there any way you can tell me how to detect and center the video playing in the VideoView. Any info might help. This is one thing I really need to get working.

VideoView is a wrapper over the native VideoView object. This object doesn't expose such settings.

Videoview not recognized?

Hi Erel,

I am trialling the B4A software. Got lots of stuff to work very quickly so I am impressed so far. I am stuck exploring some features and wondered whether it is because I am using the trial version =

I like to run a video in the app so I kick it off in the Process_Globals with =

Dim vv As VideoView

When I try to run the code, I get =

Error description: Unknown type: videoview
Are you missing a library reference?

It also doesn't appear as a list-option to pick from after I type a space after the As I type in the IDE

Little advise?

4give me 4 being probably ignorant.. I am a bit rusty on the programming front [about a decade ago....]

If you are using the "Trial" version you won't be able to do it, since the trial version doesn't allow the use of Libraries.

OK.. That was obvious! I spent the ca$h and it is all sorted. Guess that is why it is called a trial version. OK, on with the good stuff

Hi Margaret, Would it be possible for you to give me any video file that plays on Videoview. I need to put a sample file on my app and demonstrate playing a video file from my website. I have tried so many files but none have worked so far. If you could help, it would be great.
