The link you posted is for the Android WebSocket client. The B4A WebSocket client (as well as the B4J WebSocketClient) has the IsConnected method exposed as the Connected property.

The B4J WebSocket object has the Open property, which is pretty much equivalent to the Connected property, I think.

It is not "very" clear, in that page, that it is about client websockets

Anyway, I have the need to know if a server websocket is connected.

If you're on the server side of a WebSocket connection, use the Open property. On the client side (B4A or B4J), use Connected.

What else would "Open" have meant?

Something like "connect" (even if it is the client requesting the connection, you never know )


Connect --> Connected

Open --> Opened


I would have chosen "Opened" or "isOpen" or... "isConnected"... or, better:

Connesso - Aperto
