Android Question Not getting Google Maps to work

Hi

I am struggling to get GoogleMaps to work. I think I did everything as instructed and per tutorials. But I still get the following error message ...

ERROR: resource directory 'C:\Android\tools\..\extras\google\google_play_services\libproject\google-play-services_lib\res' does not exist

When I look for the directory, it isn't there. It gets as far as C:\Android\tools\..\extras\google\google_play_services

The SDK is looking like ...

I am B4A version 6.80.

I have no clue what is wong. Any idea is highly appeciated.

Remove these lines. ALL

    #AdditionalRes: $AndroidSDK$\extras\google\google_play_services\libproject\google-play-services_lib\res, com.google.android.gms
    #ExcludeClasses: .games, .drive, .fitness, .wearable, .measurement, .cast, .auth, .nearby
    #ExcludeClasses: .tagmanager, .analytics, .wallet, .plus, .vision, .gcm
    'remove the following line if you use AdMob
    #ExcludeClasses: .ads

Add this line

#AdditionalJar: com.google.android.gms:play-services-maps

Hope that´s all. As i do not have your json file i cant test it

thanks a lot. Now it is compiling. Unfortunately it crashes when opening. Just stops without any further info.

look at the unfiltered log. Maybe you find something in this log. There must be something in the log....

I can complie the code - then install it. When I open the app, it stops immediately. nothing in the log Very strange.

I am running this on a Samsung S7Edge with Android 7.0. Anything I am missing?

i saw in you manifest more than just the firebase base snippet.
Is this correct?

Log is totally empty.

Then you android device is OFF. There is NO EMPTY Log in Android.
Check the unfiltered log!

I don't know. I hoe I just followed the instructions. I do not know how it should look like. That is a bit my problem. Perhaps you have an example I just could copy? I attached the latest zip again. And thanks a lot for the help. Great stuff. René

Why you have all these firebase code inside the manifest? You are not using Firebase messaging and also not firebase ads.

Go again over the tutorial and follow the instructions MORE correctly. I mean EXACT!

Just add your api key in the manifest then it should work.

I "just followed the above tutorial exactly" to get it to work.

you are obviously right and it works. So first of all thanks a lot. I thought I have to add all this firebase stuff in my manifest .... What should I say. Sorry for wasting your time.
